Need a final push to complete your short film? Opening Shot’s Final Checks fund is now open for applications.
Final Checks is a new completion fund that supports filmmakers who have already completed principal photography but need additional support to finish and share their film with audiences. The fund is open to Scotland-based filmmakers at all experience levels.
You can apply for any amount up to £5,000 to cover costs such as:
- Pick-ups.
- Post-production (editing, sound, colour, etc.)
- Distribution and marketing.
- Access costs (e.g. captioning, translation).
- Producer or executive support during delivery.
- Festival submission fees or materials.
We’re particularly interested in projects that have already made significant progress and show clear potential – but just need that final bit of support to get over the line.
Applications must include:
- An edit or rushes of your short film.
- A clear breakdown of what you’re applying for and how it will support completion.
- A short statement about your film and your goals for it.
Our first deadline is 30 January 2026 and the fund will reopen for future rounds later in the year.
